It is a golden opportunity providing the support of experts and investors from an early stage of development to achieve scalability and internationalisation.
The Call covers the following innovative topics of intervention: renewable energy sources, efficient energy use, sustainable mobility, ambient intelligence, waste management, food waste, green building, bioinformatics, medical devices, digital health care systems, assistive technologies, circular economy, and social inclusion.
The Call for Ideas is aimed at informal teams, entrepreneurs-to-be, startups, and SMEs not older than five years which are willing to submit their ideas and turn them into businesses.
It is possible to apply until 30 September 2019.
The best ten ideas will be awarded with free incubation services, general support, mentoring by highly experienced mentors, masterclasses on entrepreneurship, contacts with networks and experts to share ideas and opinions. The teams will also be guided from the development of business ideas to the identification of the best go-to-market strategies to meet national and international investors.
Selected teams will start a supervised incubation process, which will provide the best on-going matching with experienced advisors and entrepreneurs. Sicilian businesses will be assisted at the premises of Innesta, the business incubator based in Messina, or at Kore University of Enna, while Maltese businesses will be followed by the TAKEOFF Business Incubator for a maximum period of 14 months. They will have access to a work space, which will meet all requirements, and many events, which will be a source of inspiration and opportunity for networking.
Additionally, 8 selected teams, 4 from Malta and 4 from Sicily, will be provided with the unique opportunity to present their business ideas at the prestigious Pitch Competition MedFest’19, to be held on 14 December 2019 on the marvellous campus of the University of Malta in Valletta. Here, they will meet international entrepreneurs and investors, who are ready to finance the best ideas.
